Private Investigator Michael Shayne had a long, successful run in book form, movies, radio and even television. A radio show featuring Mike debuted on the Mutual Broadcasting Network in 1944 with Wally Maher in the lead. Mutual's production was the first of three distinctly separate versions of this popular detective. In 1948, the "New Adventures of Michael Shayne" ran for two years with Jeff Chandler playing Shayne. The third and last version began in 1952 with Donald Curtis filling the role. He was later replaced by Robert Sterling. It's last broadcast was almost one year later, July 1953.
