Luke Slaughter of Tombstone was a summer fill-in during the 1958 CBS broadcast season. It starred Sam Buffington as Luke Slaughter, a Civil War cavalryman who turned to cattle ranching in the post-war Arizona territory. It's a good series with well-written scripts. Plus, with Sam Buffington's strong voice and characterization the listener could easily visualize Slaughter as a tough customer who could handle himself in the rough world of the Southwest and the hard, tough business of making a living as a cattle rancher. It's a hidden gem among radio westerns. Click here for a list of episodes on this old time radio CD Set.
