Baby Snooks was played by vaudeville star, Fanny Brice who played Snooks as a very mischievous young girl. Brice had begun the role in the 30's when she appeared on the Zigfield Follies radio show. "Snooks" proved to be a very popular radio character and had a large following.
After Zigfield Follies, Brice took the mischevious character to the CBS network. There it started as "Toasties Time" (for the cereal sponsor, Post Toasties) and began broadcasting on September 17, 1944. It wasn't soon after that the title of the show was changed to "The Baby Snooks Show". Click here for a list of episodes on this old time radio CD.
