Dark Fantasy was a radio series with tales of the weird adventures of the supernatural and dealings with the unknown. The series aired as a horror drama on NBC between 1941 and 1942 with a total of 31 broadcasts. It originated from radio station WKY, Oklahoma City and was written by Scott Bishop (of Mysterious Traveler and The Sealed Book fame) and heard over NBC stations.
This is an excellent radio program with some stories ahead of their time. It was very popular when broadcast during the early 40s. But the program was considered so scary that it was only broadcast late on Friday nights so as not to disturb the sleep of 1940s American youth.
