Jungle Jim is the fictional hero of a series of jungle adventures in various media. The series began in 1934 as an American newspaper comic strip chronicling the adventures of Asia-based hunter Jim Bradley, who was nicknamed Jungle Jim. There were also radio, film, and television adaptations.
For the radio series, it was syndicated by Hearst and sponsored by the Comic Weekly and premiered November 2, 1935 as The Adventures of Jungle Jim. Matt Crowley had the title role for three years, until Gerald Mohr stepped in as Jungle Jim beginning April 24, 1938. Vicki Vola and Franc Hale portrayed Shanghai Lil, and Juano Hernandez was the Hindu servant Kolu. Each episode ran 15 minutes. Click here for a list of episodes on this old time radio CD.
